He was born and raised in upstate New York, earned a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical engineering from SUNY Maritime College, and later a master's degree in national security affairs and strategic planning from the US Naval Postgraduate School.
He was a Navy Pilot for over 20 years, where he commanded several squadrons ashore and at sea. After retiring, he worked as a defense consultant and government contractor for several years. Currently, he works for BMO Harris bank as an M&A technical integrator and workforce development lead for the Financial Crimes Unit (Cyber, Fraud, Physical, and Crisis).
She was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended Auburn University in Alabama, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. For the last eight years, She has been a very successful real estate agent for Redfin. The couple has been married for 15 years and, between them, have five adult children. They love going to the beach, boating, and traveling, and they are very active in their local church.
