Monster Tree Service is coming to Grand Rapids, MI with five
territories! We have now moved over 80 territories in 2018!
These Franchisees worked through the process with the assistance
of their parents. Throughout the process it was clear that the goal
was to find a business the whole family could be passionate about
and find a role in. What excited the family about Monster Tree was
the scalability and the sales numbers they saw in the FDD as well
as what they heard on the validation calls. After researching
several brands, they felt Monster Tree provided their family with
the best chance to achieve their personal and financial goals for

early on and executed an agreement prior to attending Discovery Day
in November.

realized there could be a few challenges. There were going to be
four different personalities and preferences, not to mention, two
generations. The good news was that they all had a strong desire to
be business owners and had a very good sense of what that would
look like. Their first desire was to buy a retail-based franchise,
potentially something in food, hair care or fitness. As we
discussed the pros and cons of retail vs. service, the quickly
decided to move toward a service-based business because of its
lower investment and quicker cash flow potential. After two to
three weeks of conversations with a few service brands, they
quickly became very interested in Monster Tree Service. They were
impressed with the knowledge and information provided in the
development process, the potential of the business and the
validation of the current owners. They began to see how each one of
their personalities would work well in the business and how their
backgrounds in both sales and operations would create a great fit
for them. Once they could visualize the opportunity in their area
with their skill sets, they quickly became passionate about the
business and decided to move forward with purchasing their own

and a 3-territory deal in Charleston, SC.
