They both spent 20 years on active duty with the Air Force, all in the Oklahoma City community. She has since transitioned to working with Boeing and he has become a full-time Realtor. He has an M.B.A degree from Embry-Riddle as well as a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. He shifted to real estate in order to start using his skills to build his own business instead of someone else's, and it has given him the flexibility and freedom to spend more time with their family. They view owning a Mosquito Shield franchise as another opportunity to build a wonderful life for their family and to give back to Oklahoma City. As veterans, both feel it is important to find ways to continue to serve in the community that was supportive of them during their combined 40 years of service.
They are looking forward to using their new business to give back to the community - and not just by simply offering a service. "We are excited about the possibilities and do not take lightly the responsibility to manage a successful business," said the Franchisee. "We are committed to growing a successful business and dreaming about what the future holds."
What first attracted them to the Mosquito Shield brand was the absentee ownership aspect of the business. Choosing to become a Realtor gave him the flexibility to set his own hours, but he also wanted to diversify his business portfolio. He wanted something else that meshed well with the Real Estate business model and still allowed for some family flexibility but also had an opportunity to expand in scale.
A big part of the Mosquito Shield brand that appealed to them is the national call center. "Having a strong team that is picking up the phone and converting sales allows me the time to be out in the communities selling the brand," he said. "Taking the sales and marketing strategy off of my plate and being handed the playbook on how to make it successful with a proven strategy and team behind me is huge!"
As they continued through the discovery process, they felt like the Mosquito Shield brand and team were a good fit for them.
